Dr. Brian Pailes publishes article in the International Concrete Repair Institute
Brian Pailes, Principal Engineer of Vector Corrosion Services, published an article in the March/April 2019 issue of Concrete Repair Bulletin themed Resiliency: Above and Beyond Concrete Restoration. His article "Electrochemical Treatments Significantly Extend the Service Life of Reinforced Concrete Structures" details the use of Electrochemical Chloride Extraction (ECE) on the I-480 bridge substructures in Omaha, NE (completed in 1998) and Re-akalization (Realk) to resolve carbonated concrete corrosion at the Historic University Hall Facade at the University of Chicago. Norcure® Chloride Extraction and Norcure® Re-alkalization have a 30+ year successful track record of preserving and extending the service life of corroding concrete in the United States, Canada and in locations worldwide. Acknowledgement was given to Vector Corrosion Technologies and Vector Construction for their roles in the development and application of these unique technologies for corrosion mitigation of concrete structures.
