Josh graduated from Michigan Technological University where he received a bachelors of science in environmental engineering. He has done extensive research into wastewater and surface water treatment systems. His research evaluated several filtration systems to reduce the mercury content of a creek located near campus below the total maximum daily load set by the State of Michigan. This included designing models that factored in the cost and environmental impact associated with each filtration system.
